Armo and Company, PC was founded on principles it adheres to today, which are based on four areas of commitment: Our clients, Ourselves, Our community, and Our Profession.
Our commitment to our clients is to provide competent, timely service on every engagement we undertake whether it is accounting, auditing, tax compliance and planning, and the varied facets of management consulting. These commitments extend from the smallest emerging business clients to our larger clients.
Armo and Company, PC is also committed to developing ourselves. The foundation of our company is our employees. Our work environment enables our professionals to develop their individual talents to the fullest.

People
Anthony L. Armo, CPA, Managing Director
As the Firm's managing director, Mr. Armo is responsible for providing the necessary resources, knowledge, and expertise to promote the growth and business success of the Firm and its clients. His extensive contacts in the business and financial communities and his relationships with numerous financial institutions enable him to assist our clients in obtaining the necessary financing assistance to fuel their future growth.
With the experience of managing a successful, growing professional services firm and exposure to a wide diversity of clients and related business issues, Mr. Armo is often able to provide clients with advice and insight regarding key aspects of their business.
Degree and Experience
An honor graduate of Albright College, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, Mr. Armo has over 23 years of experience in accounting and business consulting, and eight years of industry experience. He has worked with both private and publicly-held companies of all sizes.
Professional and Community Activities
Mr. Armo is past president of the Reading Chapter of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Past Presidents of Muhlenberg Rotary and Muhlenberg Community Library. He has always been active in community affairs and has served on the Board of Directors of the Berks County of Commerce as treasurer for two terms, and chairman of the Finance and Audit committees for Albright College and Alvernia College. He is also a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Richard F. Close, Jr., CPA, Retired, Director of Accounting & Auditing
Mr. Close is the Firm's director of Accounting and Auditing and responsible for the Firm's system of quality control. Mr. Close has over forty years of diverse, accounting, auditing and business consulting experience of which sixteen years were spent with an international accounting firm. He is a peer reviewer for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants for over twenty years and served as captain of peer review teams for over one hundred peer reviews.
Degree and Experience
Mr. Close graduated with honors from the University of Scranton with a BS in Business Administration and a concentration in Accounting. He is certified public accountant licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Professional and Community Activities
Mr. Close is a member of AICPA and the PICPA. He is currently a board member and has served as a Chairman of the Board of the Berks County Chapter of the American Red Cross and was a recipient of the PA State council Award for leadership excellence. He is a past president of the Rotary Club of Reading, and Leadership Berks and Reading Rotary Foundation and served in various capacities for the Berks County Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Close has instructed at the Penn State Graduate Accounting conference and for the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants.
Philosophy
We are pleased to welcome you to Armo and Company, PC and want you to understand the underlying philosophies and ethics by which we conduct our Firm.
The principal objective of our Firm is to perform outstanding service for clients at affordable prices. To achieve this, we will pursue the following goals:
1. To achieve uniformly high-quality work, efficiently performed. "Uniformly" means using the same standards for each service provided regardless of the personnel involved or type and size of clients. "High-quality" indicates commitment and adherence to standards of the profession. We are members of the PCPS/The AICPA Alliance for CPA Firms of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, which provides, among other things, for peer review of our quality control policies and procedures. Efficient performance includes timely service by competent professional and support staff.
2. To be available for clients at the Director, Supervisor, and staff levels.
3. To anticipate the needs of the client even though the client may not recognize them, and assist to the best of our ability in solving business problems.
4. To make available new types of services which we are qualified to perform.
5. To perform only those services which the client needs.
6. To complete each engagement in a timely manner.
7. To meet all of our commitments.

History
Armo and Company, PC has been a member of the professional community since 1960. Although our address and our name has changed since our founding, we have always been a Berks County firm. We have several Albright College graduates at our firm. We take seriously our role as a responsible corporate citizen and encourage all of our employees to be active in the community.
Today, the Firm is a full-service CPA firm with expertise in auditing, reviews, compilations, taxes, and management advisory services.
Our clients, for the most part, are a blend of small, medium and large size businesses and professional firms representing a wide variety of fields, including: healthcare, light manufacturing, leasing, transportation, "hi-tech" industries, wholesale/retail trade, not for profit and construction.
We are a people-sensitive Firm. Personal growth and development of each employee increases the quality of the individuals in our Firm. Our people make the difference in comparison to other accounting firms.
